Vintage 1960's VELVET ICE CREAM General Store Lighted Advertising Sign
. Used to hang over my Uncle's refrigerator in his General Store in the 60's and 70's. I always liked to visit the store, the wooden floor, the smells, the huge jars of pickled eggs, gumdrops, the board punch games which I could not play, and my favorite, the old gas pumps that you cranked a handle on the side to spin the dial that would indicate the dollar amount of gas you would pump, and a ding ding each time a gallon of gas was pumped. I never noticed that this sign has an arrow pointing down to the location of the Ice Cream. Faded a bit, but still there.
Excellent man cave piece. Lights promptly. It can be either hard wired or used with a plug. Currently has a plug and inline switch. Measures 25" long, 17" tall, 3 1/2" thick. Nice ribbed extruded aluminum frame. Wear commensurate with age and storage. No damage or repairs. Absolutely gorgeous when lighted. It will draw much attention in your man cave or among advertising collectibles.
