Description
South Dakota US 212 route marker.Up for sale today is this South Dakota US 212 route sign. Made to the exact 1950 state standard, as used between then and the early 1960s along this famous road. South Dakota used colored route markers from approximately 1950 to the early 1970s.
An original of these would cost many hundreds of dollars if it ever came to the market. So here is your chance to own an excellent display piece, for just a fraction of the price.
This sign is flat printed with completely accurate layout and fonts. It weighs about 4 pounds, 6 ounces, and is the correct size: 16 1/2 by 16 inches.
This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
I can of course make these signs with
any route number of your choice,
and not just this style, but others with the reflectors, the embossed style that other states used, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
