    Description

New York Verrazano-Narrows Bridge highway marker.
Up for sale today is this New York City bridge sign for the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Made to the exact 1964 standard from when the bridge was first opened, to connect Staten Island to the mainland for the first time.  The name was corrected to add the second Z (Verrazzano) in 2018, but most of the signs still standing use the old spelling.
This sign is flat printed on heavy gauge steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts.  It weighs about 6 pounds, 15 ounces, and is 18 by 18 inches, the smallest of four sizes specified to conform to early 1960s New York signage standards (the other sizes are 24", 36", and 48").  it is a non-reflective sign - perfect for ordinary display, indoors or outdoors.
(if you would like a different size version, or a reflective one, please ask as I can certainly make one!)
. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
I can of course make these signs with
any route number of your choice,
and not just this style, but others with the reflectors, the embossed style that other states used, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
