Nakamichi ZX-9 Cassette Deck. Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.My ZX-9 is fully functional and well maintained, it is the best sounding cassette deck I’ve heard providing beautiful stereo imagery, dynamics, clarity, depth and punch. To get the most out of my ZX-9 I record from a 192KHz 24bit DAC or my moving coil turntable. At one time I owned Nakamichis 682ZX, Dragon, CR-7A and an open reel Revox B77 2 track running at 7.5 ips max. My ZX-9 has the best audio and when I follow the procedure to carefully calibrate the heads to the metal tape I’m using (see included users guide) then the recording is as good as the source, to my ears.
You can see I also have a CR-7A. The CR-7A sounds like a CD but has cool features such as auto bias and a remaining time counter in mins and secs. The ZX-9 has much better audio but is totally manual, with lots of internal audio paths and calibration options. These days I stream with Tidal, buy vinyl and don’t make any more tape recordings so, I’ve opted to keep the CR-7A to playback my existing cassettes.
