Description

20 by 16 inch Massachusetts Turnpike sign.  the sign type with the diagonal arrow first appeared at the same time as the famous arrow-through-hat style for the left and right turns - but the materials and exact layout of this particular sign imply 1980s, or maybe 1970s at the earliest.
condition is as shown in the photos.  sign is screen printed on reflective sheeting, on aluminum.  it lies completely straight and flat, and definitely survived the mean streets of Massachusetts for longer than the designed intent.  the entire verbiage is visible if the sign is held to the correct angles, but really it's just the hat that has survived being boiled.
