    Description

    Colorado Buena Vista highway sign.
Up for sale today is this Colorado state highway 6 rectangular guide sign, with destinations of Buena Vista, Leadville, Tennessee Pass, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, and Salt Lake City Utah. Made to the exact standards as used between 1923 and 1928 by the Rocky Mountain Motorists Association, which was an automobile club that took it upon itself to sign the highways of Colorado as a motorist aid.
An original of these, complete with the logo of the Rocky Mountain Motorists Inc., would be many thousands of dollars, if it even survives.  This sign is a faithful remake to the correct size (20 by 28 inches), and weighs about 14 pounds, 4 ounces.  please note that I can make an RMMI sign with any verbiage, destination set, route numbers, etc.  inquire about custom orders!
This is a high quality, heavy steel sign.  Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
Would you like a number not seen here? Or perhaps a different style? I can of course make these signs with
any city name of your choice,
and not just this style, but others with the reflectors, the embossed style that other states used, and even the classic mileage, direction, and route shield signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
Figure about 16 pounds for shipping, packed with care and mailed from zip code 61833.
    Thank you for your purchase!
