Description
ColoradoUS route 24
guide sign.
Up for sale today is this Colorado guide sign. Made to the exact 1926 state standard as used between then and the late 1940s in the state. this exact sign stood in Genoa, and gave the distances to Colorado Springs and Limon to the west, and Burlington and Flagler to the east.
This is a non-reflective sign, printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts.
It is 24 by 18 inches and weighs about 11 pounds
.
It is a faithful rescaling to 2/3 of the original size in each dimension, which was 36 by 27 inches in field service.
(if you would like a different size version, please see my other auctions.) It
is a high quality, durable sign made of heavy steel.
Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
I can of course make these signs with
any route number of your choice,
and not just this style, but others with the reflectors, the embossed style that other states used, and even the classic mileage, direction, and city limit guide signs from the era. Anything you would like, made with unsurpassed quality right here in the good old US of A.
