Up for sale today is this Arizona US 66 guide sign with destinations of Needles, Barstow, and Los Angeles - all in California. Made to the exact 1950s state standard as used on the Mother Road and elsewhere in the state.  this exact sign stood on the far side of Kingman on the new road that opened in 1953 that was renumbered to interstate 40 in 1957.  this new road replaced the old and dangerous Sitgreaves Pass route through Oatman.
Route 66 needs no introduction - it's been the historic Mother Road, from John Steinbeck to Bobby Troup, and has arguably become even more famous since its formal decommissioning between 1964 and 1985. 66 has become the ultimate lost highway, the road trip that everyone takes...

This is a non-reflective sign, printed on steel, with completely accurate layout and fonts.  It is the same size as the original: 54 by 24 inches.  it weighs about 33 pounds.  the sign comes in two panels, each a 27 by 24 inch rectangle,
with mounting holes along the edges to accommodate a frame for stability.  this frame manufacture, assembly and mounting process will be left up to the buyer.  (if you would like an even bigger sign made of even more panels, let's talk!)
