Akai GXC-725D vintage 3-head cassette deck, clean and tested with new belts
This unit came from my dad's collection, and has sat unused for about 20 years in his garage.  I cleaned the outside, and it came out looking very good as can be seen in the pictures.  The wood cabinet is in great shape, as well as the faceplate, knobs, and push-button switches.  On the inside, all three belts have been replaced with brand-new ones, and potentiometers and switches have been sprayed with contact cleaner, including the sliding 'record' switch on the main PCB.  Recording functionality did not work properly until I cleaned that sliding switch.  All the lights and VU meters work.  I took a flash pic of the cassette bay in order to show the heads.  The flash is very unforgiving, showing some lint/dust, but it is actually very clean in there.  I tested this unit fairly extensively with both playback and recording, and it is working fine.  Initially, recording did not work consistently, but it was due to the dirty 'record' sliding switch on the PCB.  Once I cleaned that switch with contact cleaner, all was well.
Even looking and working as good as it does, this unit is being sold

.  I have sold several pieces of vintage audio gear on here from my dad's collection, so check my feedback.  I do not sell junky items.  I have a lot of gear to go through, so if something doesn't work, it gets junked, or set aside as a future repair project.
