Up for sale today is this Police, Sheriff, California Highway Patrol guide sign. Made to the exact standards as used from 1934 to 1936 by the Auto Club of Southern California.
The original of this guide sign, complete with the logo of the Automobile Club of Southern California, would cost many thousands of dollars - if it even survives!  Only historic photos of it are known.
this is a faithful remake scaled down from the original size to 20 x 15 inches, manufactured on heavy steel with the correct layout, fonts and colors.  it weighs about 7 pounds, 10 ounces.  (if you are looking for the original 24 x 17 3/4 inch version, please see my other listings!)
This is a high quality, heavy steel sign. Accept no imitations that may be one-third this price, but are one-tenth the quality. No cheap tin to be found here, with the wrong fonts, layouts, size, shape, or any other manner of embarrassing imperfection. This one will make even the most discerning collector stick their nose into the sign, as it looks that good from that close!
